Our mission is to achieve positive outcomes for ischemic disorders.
Our work is inspired by the possibility, which to us appears imminent, that millions of people will recover from ischemic disorders who otherwise would die or endure debilitating diseases for the rest of their lives.
Karin Przyklenk, PhD, a member of our Board of Advisors, discovered Remote Ischemic Conditioning (RIC) therapy in 1990. A few years later Boris Leschinsky, our Chairman, developed a clinical rationale for RIC devices and began inventing key technology concepts to make the therapy practical.
In 2010, Boris founded LifeCuff Technologies, which he first named Infarct Reduction Technologies, Inc., to further develop and commercialize the technology. He built a team to develop the device composed of both engineers and experienced medical device entrepreneurs. The team personally funded initial development.
During 2012, development was halted for lack of funds.
In 2014, Tom Moore, Chairman and CEO, was introduced to run the company, prepare it for funding and reactivate fund-raising. He and the other executive team and board members provided additional funding.
Considerable development has taken place since then, and the company is currently raising additional funding, which will enable it to reach the market.
